FIRE SPIKE to Stand Stud in Alberta
Son of Floweralley retiring from racing
Firespike,
a six
year old son of Floweralley, is retiring from racing this season to stand at C
& C Performance Horses in Rimbey, Alberta. The graded stakes placed runner
won the blacktype Juvenile Turf Stakes at Gulfstream Park as a two year old and
was then sold as a two year old through the Ocala Breeders’ Spring Sale of Two
Year Olds in Training for $70,000. Firespike won the OBS Championship Stakes at
Ocala and placed second in the Victoria Park Stakes at Woodbine as a three year
old. He finished his race career with $332,718 in earnings. The Florida bred
runner was bred by Carlos Rafael, Michael Bossio & Cherie Abner out of the
Dixieland Band mare, Fairy Valley.
Owner Keri Schweer is setting the stud fee for Firespike at $1800 plus a $200 booking fee and consideration given to stakes mares and multiple mare discounts.
