FROM ALBERTA TO THE BREEDERS’ CUP!

This Saturday, the eyes of the racing world turn to Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Southern California — and Alberta fans have extra reason to cheer!

MAJESTIC OOPS, bred by Albertans Bill & Sandy Dory and Gary & Janet Kropp, is set to take on the best fillies and mares in the world in the $2 Million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (Grade 1)!

This remarkable mare’s journey is the stuff of dreams — a one-time claimer who rose through the ranks to earn her place among the elite. After collecting her first black-type victory this year, Majestic Oops has proven she belongs on the world’s biggest stage.

In 2025 alone, she captured the $200,000 Dig a Diamond Stakes at Oaklawn Park and went on to score in the Lady’s Secret Stakes (Listed) at Monmouth Park. She’s since held her own against top company, finishing second in the Molly Pitcher Stakes (G3) and third in the Ballerina Stakes (G1) — an incredible record that showcases her heart, talent, and determination.

Bred by Albertans through and through, this daughter of Majestic Harbor out of Miss Oops (by Olmodavor) has now earned more than $645,000 CAD in her career and continues to make her home province proud.

From the Alberta prairies to the Pacific coast, Majestic Oops carries the heart and grit of Alberta horse racing with her every stride. Let’s rally behind her breeders, owners, and connections as she chases championship glory in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff — a race that has crowned legends like Zenyatta.

Another story to cheer for with Alberta connections is the runner Oops and Downs, a full sister to Majestic Oops. Oops and Downs was also bred by Albertans Bill & Sandy Dory and Gary & Janet Kropp and the four year old mare is owned by Sublime Stables and Janet Kropp. Carson Frey, a respected Alberta trainer since 1999, was the trainer for Oops and Downs during her racing career here in Alberta for much of last year and this season.
