The CTHS Alberta Board of Directors approves change to the Breeders’ Breeding Support criteria

The CTHS Alberta Board of Directors has recently approved a change to the Breeders’ Breeding Support criteria in Clause 10 of the 2019 Thoroughbred Breed Improvement Program.

This adjustment aligns the Breeders’ Breeding Support with the retroactive changes to the Owners’ Breeding Support announced by the HBPA of Alberta on October 15, 2019.

The new criteria will be as follows:

Breeders of horses of all ages foaled in Alberta placing win, place and show in all sanctioned races in Alberta having a minimum $7,000 purse and where entered at or above a minimum $7,000 Claiming price will be paid a bonus after the conclusion of the Alberta racing season (invoiced by CTHS). Bonuses will not be paid for eligible races that have four (4) or less starters. The CTHS acknowledges that the Breeders Bonus will be evaluated at the end of the 2019 racing season and that the CTHS reserves the right to alter the minimum standards for the bonus payouts if additional funds become available.
