Introduction


It is with great pride that we provide the Annual Statistical Review for the 2020 calendar year.

We would like to acknowledge that this has been a challenging year for all those involved in the

industry and applaud your strength and passion to persevere.


Ever since its establishment in 1906, the CTHS, with uncompromising integrity have committed

to assist and afford a means for the promotion of the interests of those engaged in the breeding of

Thoroughbreds in Canada. The CTHS aims to ensure a viable future for its members by

providing assistance and representation within the Thoroughbred Breeding Industry.


The publication of the statistical review is in keeping with our commitment to compile and

disseminate information to members and also acts as a resource to strengthen our engagement

with our stakeholders.


When reviewing the wealth of data included in this publication it is a clear testament to the

Horse Industry’s strength and passion that we continue to see the successes of our Canadian

Breeders, Canadian Sires and Canadian-Bred’s both nationally and internationally.


We are a strong and vital organization focused on being your go-to industry resource. Your

dedicated Directors and Staff make this all possible.


We are all in this together and the CTHS remains committed to our Breeders and the Industry
