Alberta Horseman Rod Cone to Receive Ken Cohoe Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is to reward the ‘lifelong personal involvement and contribution for the love of the Thoroughbred’ that Rod has shown throughout his life.

The Alberta Thoroughbred industry is pleased to announce that Alberta horse trainer Rod Cone will be presented with the Ken Cohoe Lifetime Achievement Award!
This award is to reward the ‘lifelong personal involvement and contribution for the love of the Thoroughbred’ that Rod has shown throughout his life. Rod is a multiple graded stakes winning trainer with 987 wins and over $9.8 million in earnings including three Canadian Derby wins - Double Bear in 2017, A Fleets Dancer in 1998 and Cozzy Grey in 1993. Horses trained by Rod include such well known runners as A Quiet Approach, Tempered Sapphire, Northernprospector, Notoriously, Double Bear, Go Eighty Eight and Bird of Pay.
We will celebrate all the achievements of the Alberta Thoroughbred industry at the upcoming Night of Champions to be held at Century Mile Racetrack and Casino on Friday, May 5th.
