Update - Alberta Bred PLUM BLUE Gets Her First Stakes Win in the Lynn Chouinard Founders Distaff Handicap on October 21st, 2023!


Congratulations to the connections of CTHS Alberta sale graduate and Alberta bred PLUM BLUE on her first stakes win in the Lynn Chouinard Founders Distaff. This win was well deserved after second place finishes this season in the Alberta Fall Classic Distaff and the black type Shirley Vargo Handicap. The Imperialism mare was bred by Winfield Stock Farm Inc. and is owned by Sheldon Walker and Lloyd Dietz. The multiple stakes placed five year old now has a career record of 32-5-12-5 and earnings of US $153,494.

The multiple stakes winning Mank mare is owned by Mohamad Khan and bred by James McFadyen.

The black type Birdcatcher Stakes over 8.5 furlongs goes at 2:06 p.m. 4 horses are entered including the PA bred GRATED COCONUT and the 3 Alberta Breds, SUDDENLY FAMOUS, ITSALLGOODMAN, and SAWCHUK.


Suddenly Famous, won his last start out in a Maiden Special Weight bringing his record to 4-1-1-1 and earnings of US $23,253. The Car Talk (IRE) colt is owned by Empire Equestrian & Kerredge Farm and was bred by Empire Equestrian.


The Speightster colt, Itsallgoodman, has won his last 2 starts including the Alberta Premier’s Futurity and the 2 YO CTHS Alberta Sales Stakes. Itsallgoodman now has a career record of 5-3-1-1 and earnings of US $92,244 for owner Curtis Landry and breeder, Stone Ranches.


Sawchuk placed 3rd in the Alberta Premier’s Futurity on Alberta Breeders’ Fall Classic day and finished 2nd in his last start out in a Maiden Special Weight. The Edison colt has a record to 3-0-1-2 and earnings of US $11,294 for owner and breeder, Sheridan Lehouillier.

The CTHS Alberta sale grad, Kulsum, has a 2nd place finish in a Maiden Special Weight race in her career for a record of 6-0-1-0 and US $8,776. The It’s No Joke filly is owned by Mohamad Khan and was bred by Pierre Esquirol.


In her 2 career starts, Morning Rain has won a Maiden Claiming race and placed 3rd in the Sturgeon River Stakes for a record of 2-1-0-1 and US $8,656 in earnings. The Gayego filly is a homebred for Randy and Donna Feddema.


The Matt’s Broken Vow filly, Broken Promises, has won and placed 2nd in 3 starts for career earnings of US $19,916 for owner and breeder, Perry Pellerin.
