The Yearling Sales Stakes is funded by the Breed Improvement Program, Nominations, Entry and Starting Fees. The C.T.H.S. (Alberta Division) is responsible for the administration of the Alberta Sales Stakes. The purpose of the race is to create a strong yearling market in western Canada, and to attract new owners in order to stimulate the Breeding Industry and improve racing in the Province.

The C.T.H.S. Two Year Old Sales Stakesran at Northlands on Saturday, August 8 and it turned out to be a winning day for owners Derby Quest Farms Ltd. and Shot in the Dark Racing Corp. They were in the winners’ circle for their filly, High Dollar Gal and then again for Modernotis, winner of the colts and geldings Sales Stake race.
High Dollar Gal, by Big EE out of Real Dilemma was consigned and bred by C.W. (Bill) Matier and Modernotis, by Stephanotis out of Modern Drama was consigned and bred by Ken Anderson.
