Thoroughbred Connect   is a resource for horse owners who are looking to rehome a Thoroughbred when its racing or breeding career comes to an end. Thoroughbred Connect allows you (i) to attach your contact information to a Thoroughbred you are interested in assisting with or providing aftercare for in the event the Thoroughbred is in need of such care or (ii) to request contact information for persons interested in assisting with or providing aftercare for a Thoroughbred in your possession. Thoroughbred Connect is voluntary and is provided free of charge to Interactive Registration users.

Under the amended Rule 18, the owner of a Thoroughbred can request that The Jockey Club attach a special notation to the Certificate of Foal Registration to indicate the horse should no longer be considered a Thoroughbred for racing purposes. Unlike the previous Sold Without Pedigree, horses that are Retired from Racing are still considered Thoroughbreds for breeding purposes. Retired from Racing Rule

(This amendment to Rule 18 may help with making sure the registration papers are passed on to the new owner of a Thoroughbred after the horse retires from racing and moves in to a new career. This way, the previous owner can make sure that they are comfortable that their horse will no longer be used as a racehorse even if the new owner has the Jockey Club papers). _________________________________________________________________________________________
