The Kiridashi sired filly DASHFORPEACE won the 14th running of the Two Year Old Filly Sales Stakes held on Saturday August 14th. Dashforpeace rallied coming into the home stretch and finished the race just in front of Spirited Winner at the wire. Dashforpeace is out of the successful race mare PRECIOUS PEACE by Habitony who had $189,518 in earnings and is now the dam of 5 foals to race, all winners. She is owned by Joe Halerewich and Jack McCurdy and trained by Diana Feuerhelm.
The Two Year Old Sales Stakes for Colts and Geldings was won by BOND JAMES BOND owned by Riversedge Racing Stable and trained by Robertino Diodoro. BOND JAMES BOND is by Old Topper out of Excitations by Jolie's Halo. Jolie's Halo is the dam of 3 foals to race including BOND JAMES BOND, Exciting Metro $264,832 and Exciting Trick $109,354.
The Three and Four Year Old Sales Stake was held at Northlands Park on October 2, 2010. The Colts and Geldings division was won by the clear favorite, MR.SHADAR who came into the race having won the last five of his six races. The four year old gelding ran a strong race running three wide and rallying into the stretch finishing in front of second place horse Charterhill. MR. SHADAR is by Alydeed out of Drummers Roll by Follow the Drum and was bred by Jack Johnston and is owned by Gerry Beerda, William Longridge and Kerredge Farm. He is a graduate of the 2007 CTHS Summer Yearling Sale and the win in the Sales Stake brings his career earnings to $231,467. Trainer Rick Hedge says the big colt's next start will likely be the October 11 Harvest Gold Plate on closing day at Northlands.
The Filly division was won by TOPASANNAH who closed in the stretch against rivals Eye Scarey and Shifty Time. This is the first win for TOPASANNAH in 2010 and marks her second career win. This three year old graduate of the 2008 CTHS Yearling Sale is by Old Topper out of Inspired Heiress. She was bred by Al and Bunny Noren and is owned by Joe Fenrich and Red Diamond Stable and trained by Red Smith.
